Free Pregnancy Testing
in San Diego, California
Have you missed your period? Are you experiencing pregnancy symptoms? Perhaps you’ve already taken a pregnancy test at home, but want a second opinion.
CAPS provides free pregnancy tests so you can be certain you’re pregnant. Results are accurate and private.
How Early Do Pregnancy Symptoms Start?
It depends. Some people start to experience symptoms days after conception, while others don’t feel anything until weeks later.[1]
Early pregnancy symptoms include[2]:
- A missed period
- Increased urination
- Fatigue
- Morning sickness
- Sore or tender breasts

Next Steps
If your pregnancy testing results are positive, we can help you understand your pregnancy options and answer your questions.
In addition, if your last period was over six weeks ago, a limited pregnancy ultrasound exam may be conducted at the same visit. If the results of pregnancy testing performed at one of our clinics reads negative but you still have many pregnancy symptoms, we may refer you to a provider who can provide a blood pregnancy test.
If you meet additional criteria set forth by our medical director, you will be offered prenatal vitamins free of charge.

When Should I Take a Pregnancy Test?
You can take a pregnancy test as soon as you’ve missed your period. However, taking a test too soon may give you a false negative. Your pregnancy hormones may be too low and the test cannot detect them and claims you’re not pregnant when you are. You may want to wait at least a week after you’ve missed your period to get a more accurate result.[3]
If your pregnancy test comes back positive, your next step is to receive an ultrasound to determine how far along you are and whether the pregnancy is located inside the uterus.
